Talent competitions are all the rage on American television. The fifth “America’s Got Talent” year has just wrapped up. A definite front runner was hard to pick, as there was not a bad choice within the “America’s Got Talent” final four. Fighting Gravity, a spectacular dance group, was the sole final act that wasn’t a vocalist, as opposed to Michael Grimm, Prince Poppycock, and Jackie Evancho. Lionel Ritchie, Jewel, and Donna Summer had awesome guest performances. Evancho was easily the favored. A girl of only ten, with a powerful operatic voice belying her years and bringing comparisons to Susan Boyle. The victor, however, proved to be the underdog Michael Grimm.
Ending really worth viewing
Just like previous years, the last episode of “America’s Got Talent” year five was quite something. The final competitive stage, though, took place two days before it. That is when the contestants put on the last performance for points for the season. Just like “American Idol,” a really good singer-songwriter type with a bluesy, soulful voice is always popular. Prince Poppycock sings a mélange of Lady Gaga, Kiss, and Paul Revere and also the Raiders in an operatic fashion, with elaborate staging and costumes. Then there was Jackie Evancho. Evancho has been a sensation all year, as the tiny ten year old has a titanic voice. Then there was Fighting Gravity, an unbelievably good dance group was the only non-singer act.
Voting takes a Grimm sound
The show gets voted on just like “American Idol,” and just like that show, viewers have to wait for the results. Prince Poppycock got buzzed by Piers Morgan, as outlined by Columbia Broadcasting System, during his performance. It was not without reason though. Poppycock quite much has one act, but with different songs. Evancho had the fact that she is only 10 years old on her side. That said, after so many ballads, individuals get bored. That has a lot to do with the outcome. A little variety of material is probably why Michael Grimm won “America’s Got Talent.” Seems like that Fighting Gravity, who is incredibly talented. Nevertheless, only one year of the program was not won by a singer. Grimm, according to People, plans to buy his grandparents a house.
Guests steal the program
Just about everybody paired with a good entertainer for the last episode performance. Lionel Ritchie and Donna Summer dropped in, and the roof with a cover of “Me and Bobby McGee.” This season wrapped up well.
